Review of 2019, a year of ambitious growth

Boiler Stoves
Boru Stoves 2019 The Review, a year of ambitious progress

2019 has probably been our most productive year since our humble beginnings in a small facility in rural Tipperary in 2008. We have achieved so much this year that it’s actually hard to believe. We all make New Year’s resolutions that we stick to until the first weekend of January is over and then it’s out the gap! We have many goals, resolutions and ambitions that we are going to achieve.

2019 At a Glance
• We introduced and started to implement our Continuous Improvement Process which sees us audit every part of our processes, products and services. Both internal and external.
• We introduced the new cool touch handle throughout most of our range. This has been something that you the customer has insisted on.
• We also designed a new log retainer that holds in the ash and fuel a lot better. This has a silhouette of The Rock of Cashel that comes alive once the fire has been lit.
• Glass sizes have been increased while amount of steel on show has been decreased
• Our new brochure was launched in September to coincide with the launch of our new website
• We began to overhaul our factory processes making you, the customer our priority. This is also part of our Continuous Improvement Process

One of our first goals was our “Back to Basics” where we looked at our challenges today versus 2008 when we began. Believe it or not 11 years on most of those challenges still exist and are still the same. When I say “Back to Basics” it means that all those years ago we were agile and youthful and able to adapt quickly by bringing out new products in a short space of time. Listen to our customers and Adapt to suit. 2019 was the year of change.

2019 saw us invest heavily in R&D. By July we had our first Eco Design Ready Stove certified and ready for sale, The 400E. As we all know Climate Change was the phrase that 2019 will be remembered for. I’m proud to say that we have been heavily involved in the fight against Climate Change. The Eco Design Stoves emit less harmful particles into the atmosphere thus helping the planet. You can do your bit by burning dry wood ensuring a 100% renewable carbon neutral product that requires little or no processing while still enjoying the benefits and beauty of a hypnotic fire.

We have designed a new suite of products previously not associated with Boru. You the customer asked for a Contemporary Design with straight lines where the fire is the star of the show. We started the manufacture of the Contemporary Range with everything from a dry stove up to a Double Sided Boiler stove. Large windows with an unobstructed view of the fire is the order of the day.
We also have the leg work done on a new suite of Eco Design Ready products that are currently being put through their paces in the Boru Stoves laboratory. This is where the real magic has been achieved in 2019. Our lab is state of the art and that is where we remove gasses and particles from the smoke by adjusting the burn rate using airflows and CO Burn Technology. This offers a better quality of life in our cities and the countryside by cutting harmful PM 2.5 by up to 80%. These will be rolled out in the first half of 2020.

New products launched

Our brand new website www.borustoves.com was rolled out in September to give our customers a better online experience. Over the first half of 2020 you will notice that our website will become much more interactive. It has a mass of information with lots more to come. Watch out for our monthly Blog which offers everything from opinion to a How To? Section.

All in all 2019 has been the most exciting year we have had since we launched Boru Stoves back in 2008. We really feel a sense of pride and achievement knowing that the values we had back in 2008 still hold strong today. Those values are to manufacture a high quality world class product in Tipperary while still competing with European and Asian products.
I’d like to thank everyone that has chosen to join the Boru Stoves family over the years, it is you that have driven our products and services to new heights. Your feedback whether positive or negative has been invaluable to us.
So THANK YOU from the bottom of our firebox!
